Happy Holidays from Celebrate Durham


As seems to happens every year, the time from Thanksgiving to the New Year can be a blur. If the countdown reminder above is causing you to panic, don't despair. There is still enough time and events in Durham to make your holidays complete.

That's a Wrap

While it can be a challenge to find the right gift, my biggest problem is wrapping them. It is really easy to spot my work under the tree. There is an opportunity to up your wrapping game and help local nonprofits. You can bring any items you need wrapped to 64 Main Street during the dates and times listed above, and volunteers will wrap them for you.

Kids Night Out

How about an opportunity to shop, have you gifts wrapped, grab something to eat, and have an activity for your kids? Durham Parks & Recreation is offer Kids Night Out December 14th. This is a great opportunity to relieve the stress of the holidays and have a fun night night out. Registration is at durhamrecdesk.com.

Shop L8 Friday

For the last few weeks, local Downtown businesses have hosted events on Friday nights and have extended their hours until 8 PM. As mention above, Friday December 14th in a great time to stop in and look for stocking stuffers.

Free Parking

Need another reason to shop Downtown? How about free parking. Wednesday December, 18th through Tuesday, January 1 the parking kiosks in the immediate Downtown business area will allow free parking. The screen on the applicable kiosks will inform parkers of the free parking and will not accept any payment. No receipts on your dashboard will be required during the Holiday Parking period!
