Oyster River Womenade: Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

A sign you live in a great community is when neighbors help each other during life's rough patches. Oyster Womenade is a local nonprofit founded in 2006 that is dedicated to providing short term assistants to community members in times of need. The group's mission is to keep overhead low to maximize funds directed to those in need and to help encourage financial independence. 99% of all money donated is dispersed as grants and during the past year, they funded over $19,000 in grants.

A majority of the grants are used to help meet needs in housing and transportation. Traditionally, funds for the grants are raised at an annual fall event, but this summer has brought an unexpected number of calls for help. Donations are needed now to fund these current requests and maintain funding until the fall fundraiser . Donations are tax deductible and can be done at the Oyster River Womenade website.
