A Drop of Om: Healing Energetic Wounds

In today's chaotic world of constant connectivity, the effects of stress and anxiety have become an increasing concern. Traditionally, western culture uses medication and therapy, but there are other alternative treatments. A Drop of Om on 8 Wiley Drive in Durham helps individuals and groups examine the dynamics of their life, and through energy healing with crystals, tuning forks, and acupressure tapping, allows them to deal with stress, release tension, and restore balance and flow back to their lives.

Damla Aktekin grew up in Turkey and was originally on a traditional business path. She earned a bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, followed by an MBA and a Management Consulting career, but along the way developed a passion for yoga. She dedicated herself to rigorous training completing her 500 hour Yoga Teacher Certification and went on to teach yoga in a variety of studios. As her interest in healing grew, she completed Reiki and Biofield Tuning certifications.

After the birth to her daughter by emergency C-section in 2012, Damla began using crystals in her mediation and found them to be effective in helping her find balance in her life. Over time, She developed a charka (an energy vortex) Bliss Healing technique, and used it in conjunction with sound balancing and EFT Tapping to relieve her stress and balance her chakras. She incorporated these techniques into her current practice and has over a 1000 hours of instruction in healing, movement, and mediation workshops.

During private sessions in her home, clients lay on a table and are led through a guided mediation. The aim is to discover their inner healing space. This space is later used as a tool to help them reset during times of stress, and as a result, helps make the client more resilient during life's ups and downs. Damla also examines and heals your energy field and your chakras through no-touch energy healing.
